Iris sprinted around the forest. She has just run away from her owner in order to seek refuge. She was fed up and tired of being locked up in a yard. She was born wild and her wild instincts kicked in when she became mature. She was anxious and disappointed, yet at the same time, excited and free! She loved her owner dearly, but just could not stay.

She picked up the pace for fear of being caught by more humans. Her only hope was to find a pack that would protect her and release her from her dreaded collar.

Terro sat on the ground in the forest chewing on one of the bones from the prey he caught yesterday. There was still a little meat on it for a snack. As he sat there chewing, he could hear the sound of footsteps and immediately stood to his feet, raising his tail and beginning to show teeth. Something was getting closer to him and he was ready for it.

Iris kept running at full speed. She had no intention of stopping anytime soon. But she grew tired. She breathed heavily and sucked in large amounts of air as she pawed the ground. She wasn't paying attention to what was in front of her. There stood another wolf, some 30 feet in front of her. As soon as she saw the wolf, she felt that her prayers had been answered. She had reached a nearby wolf pack! She slowed herself to a trot and approached the wolf.

Terro stood his ground and lowered his, letting out a low growl as he say that it was an unknown, rogue wolf. He let out a short bark as a warning, but it seemed that the wolf did not pay attention. Either this wolf was extremely dominant and strong, it had a death wish ...

Iris kept going and screeched to a halt right in front of the wolf. She smiled ready to meet the other wolf.

Terro lunged at the wolf as it stood it front of him. He tackled the wolf to the ground. He ended up standing over top of the other wolf who was laying on its back and seemed to look confused. He growled deeply and showed off his sharp canines. He was one step away from aiming for the wolf's throat.

He managed to mutter through his gritted teeth, "Who are you?"

Iris, out of breath and scared out of her wits, looked up at the wolf with one eye open, somewhat expecting the wolf to start chewing on her face. She winced everytime he breathed. She hoped the wolf would be nice and welcome her, but it seems that her domestication has made her less of a wolf. She didn't realize the visual cues that were thrown at her ... Looking into his enraged eyes, she squeaked "I'm Iris".

He stared down at Iris, almost expecting her to fight back, but she did not. He noticed that she was submitting to him. He closed his jaws to conceal his powerful canines and in a deep threatening voice, he said, "What do you want?"

As Terro's voice boomed at her, she flinched and whimpered. His voice was deep and intimidating. She closed her eyes as she spoke. "I ... I was just looking for a pack to join ..." She opened on of her eyes to see that Terro was not showing his teeth any longer and she felt less threatened. "I just thought that ... well ... you know ... that you would protect me? ..." She gave a questioning smile after it escaped her lips.

Terro pulled his head in shock after what Iris had told him. It slightly angered him even more. But then he looked down at her neck. Locked around her neck was a silver collar with a tag on it. His eyes opened wide and he looked up into her eyes. "Do I look like your owner to you?" He turned away from her quickly walked away from her. He stopped with his back to her and sat on the ground 4 feet from her. "Why don't you just go back to humans? You're a pet. You don't belong in the wild."

Iris slowly got up to her feet. She was taken aback by the change of attitude. As she looked at his back, she could tell he was no longer angry with her, but somewhat upset. She shook her coat and exclaimed, "I'm no pet!" Then slowly wondered over to his backside. "I'm a wolf, just like you. I'm just lost is all ..."

Terro could hear her voice right behind his shoulder and he jumped up immediately to face her. A low growl escaped his throat. "You're going to get hurt out here. Just go back to your humans". He looked at her dead in the eye. He could tell she didn't have a clue what she was doing. She was lost. In some ways, he worried for her. A young female would be an easy target in the woods. He believed that the best place for her was in the care of her owners.

Iris began to grow annoyed with the wolf. "Look, a house is no place for a wolf like me. The forest is where I belong! I just wish I could get rid of this collar" she said as she began to scratch at the collar with her back legs.

[Juanito]

Terro looked at her and slickly smiled. "I could get it off of you, but first ..." He leaned in towards Iris and whispered at her, "You have to admit that you're a pet". He chuckled to himself as he knew he had the upper hand over her.

Iris gritted her teeth at the comment and let out a deep growl. "I am not pet!" she screamed at him as she leaned in closer to him. She was trying to intimidate by getting closer to his face. She tried as hard as she could to put on a scary face, but it didn't seem to be working ...

He stood there, in her face, staring into her bright blue eyes, all the while, still smiling. He took her as a joke. He even thought she looked a little cute trying to be dominant one in the situation. "Well. I'm waiting" he said to Iris gently.
